Disability Mural Project Duluth

The Disability Mural Project is an international evolving community artwork founded and curated by Frances Valesco and Center for Accessible Technology (CforAT) in Berkeley, CA. Arrowhead Alliance of Artists With Disabilities (AAAWD), in preparation for National Disability Employment Awareness Month 2011, collaborated with CforAT and Ed Roberts Campus to facilitate participation in the Disability Mural Project for those whose lives have intersected with disability in the Duluth, MN area.

The Arrowhead Alliance of Artists With Disabilities (AAAWD)

The Arrowhead Alliance of Artists With Disabilities (AAAWD) is a community group founded in Duluth, MN in 2006 with the support of VSA Minnesota - The State Organization on Arts and Disability. We are dedicated to promoting awareness, standing, community, and opportunity for artists with disabilities in the Arrowhead region of Minnesota.

Our members are musicians, visual artists, filmmakers, performers, writers, photographers, comedians, and dancers. We meet monthly in order to learn about, plan, and prepare for opportunities to increase our involvement and achievements in the arts. We also advocate for making the arts and arts facilities more universally accessible to all.
